Tourismonline: The joint pavilion of the Malaysian Embassy and Air Arabia was one of the attractive parts of the 13th International Pars-Shiraz Tourism Exhibition and the 14th National Exhibition of Handicrafts.

According to Tourismonline, Rosna Mustafa, Director of Middle East Department of Malaysian Tourism, in an interview with our reporter, said: We are present here because we know the importance of the Iranian market and its great potential .It is worth to mention that the number of Iranian tourists in Malaysia has more than doubled in recent years.

She added: We participated in this exhibition together with Air Arabia. Air Arabia has a direct flight from Shiraz to Sharjah every day and these flights connect to Malaysia. We have daily flights from Shiraz to Sharjah and 11 weekly flights from Sharjah to Malaysia.

Rosna Mustafa declared: As a Malaysian Muslim, I am happy to be in the country of Iran as well the very beautiful city of Shiraz. Our nation and the Iranian nation have many old cultural similarities. Many Iranian students are studying in Malaysia, and I had a conversation with them today at the exhibition.

Regarding the suspension of the direct flight from Iran to Malaysia, she said: Previously, there was a direct flight between Iran and Malaysia by Mahan Airlines, but this was stopped due to fuel problems. But due to the importance of this flight route, we are negotiating with another Iranian airline to re-establish this flight soon.

Regarding the exact date of this flight, she said: the exact time depends on the administrative process. According to her, the permission of this flight has been issued by Iran and after the administrative procedure is completed in Malaysia, this flight will probably be launched before Nowruz . At the beginning, two airlines will operate with probably one or two flights per week.

The Director of Middle East Department of the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia further said: Iranian tourists can travel to Malaysia without the need for a visa.

She added: Apart from being a representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Malaysia, I will tell my compatriots about the beauty of Iran and their culture and authenticity. Iranians have a rich culture and civilization, and the whole world knows and respects this culture.

The 13th International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries as well as the14th National Specialized Exhibition of Handicrafts was held on January 3-5, 2024, in Fars Permanent International Fairground in Shiraz.
